Callie Frelinghuysen’12 worked this summer as a special programming and events intern at The Museum of Modern Art. Frelinghuysen, an art history major and an arts and education minor, worked with prospective clients and also assisted with the preparation and planning of upcoming events.
“After spending the past few summers working HWS Reunion, I knew I wanted to further explore a career in event planning while still being involved in the art world,” she said.
Through her internship at MoMa, she was exposed to the art world, attended meetings with curators, participated in the museum’s weekly lecture series, and helped plan several events.
“I was drawn to the program because of the unique experience of being exposed to event planning, but also that it allowed me to continue my education in art history by learning about exhibitions, the collection, and organizational systems of the museum,” said Frelinghuysen.
On campus, Frelinghuysen ’12 is the captain of the William Smith lacrosse team, a representative on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and a student worker at Alumni House. She will also work with other members of the senior class as a part of the Stewardson Society.
