A representative from Christie’s Education will visit campus to lead an information session on the education program affiliated with Christie’s Auction House on Monday, Oct. 29. The education program features post-graduate classes that give students a global perspective on the art world. The presentation is part of the Professionals in Residence Series.
The information session will be led by Hilary Smith, academic and admissions coordinator of the New York branch of Christie’s Education. Smith’s presentation will be held at 7:30 p.m., in Stern 103.
Christie’s Auction House has offices that cater to Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, and the United Kingdom and Ireland. Additionally, the firm has salerooms in Amsterdam; Dubai; Geneva, Switzerland; Hong Kong; King Street, London; South Kensington, London; Milan; New York, New York; Paris; and Zurich; and independent consultants for the auction house across the globe.
The Christie’s Education Program was established to educate individuals on different aspects of the art world. Courses include history of art and art-world practice, history of art and the art market and art, law and business, among others. Classes for Christie’s Education are led by field experts in London, New York, and Hong Kong.
