This March, the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development is thrilled to announce the day-long Fashion Experience in New York City. The trip will allow students to explore career paths in the fashion industry.
“The Salisbury Center programming is geared to meet student need – a response demonstrating our recognition of what industries and careers HWS students are most passionate about,” says Assistant Director of the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development Miranda Warder. “We really have an outstanding line-up of alums this year.”
On Wednesday, March 20, students interested in the fashion industry will meet with a wide variety of speakers, learning the ins and outs of what it takes to survive in the competitive industry. This year’s speakers will include: Laura Clark ’07, product manager at Macy’s Merchandising Group; Meredith Vanderwarker Martin ’04, corporate relations manager at Louis Vuitton North America; Jessica Knoll ’06, senior editor at Cosmopolitan; and Salome Donenfeld ’09, assistant to the CSO, J. Crew. New this year will be the “Young Fashion Alum” panel featuring recent graduates sharing their transitions from HWS student to New York City fashion professionals.
The trip will also feature HWS Trustee Linda Arrington ’88, chief marketing officer with Carol’s Daughter, as the keynote speaker presenting on the “Business of Fashion.”
Only a few openings remain for the trip; those who wish to register should contact Warder at firstname.lastname@example.org or (315) 781-3045.
