The Hobart College lacrosse team will play its final regular season home game on Saturday, April 20, when the eighth-ranked Loyola Greyhounds visit Boswell Field. The ECAC Lacrosse League contest, which will be televised by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, is scheduled to begin at 1:07 p.m.
Prior to the start of the game, Hobart will honor the team’s nine seniors during a ceremony that is scheduled to being at approximately 12:40 p.m. The Statesmen are 6-6 following a 13-12 win at fifth-ranked Syracuse on Tuesday night in the annual Kraus-Simmons Trophy game. Hobart is 2-3 in the conference, one game out of a playoff spot.
At halftime, the College will recognize the very best student-athletes of the past year for their exceptional work in the classroom. Statesmen who received conference, regional or national academic honors during the spring 2012, fall 2012, and winter 2012-13 seasons will be honored during the special ceremony. The list of 70 awards includes three Capital One Academic All-Americans, tennis’ Walter Green ’12, football’s Michael Green ’14, and basketball’s Richie Bonney ’14.
Additionally, between the first and second quarter, Hobart will conduct its annual “Your Buck Goes Here” fundraiser for Rotary Camp Onseyawa. The summer camp for children with disabilities derives its name from the four-counties it serves ONtario, SEneca, YAtes, and WAyne.
Loyola brings a 9-3 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in the ECAC, to Geneva. The Greyhounds have secured one of the four spots in the ECAC Championship Tournament, which Hobart will host on May 2 and May 4.
