Keith Brandon ’01 has been named assistant athletic director at Penn State Abington. He will focus on academic retention and all athletic event management and will be a liaison with the admissions office. Brandon also will implement and organize the student success program which will include study hall sessions.
Brandon assumed the role of head coach for the Penn State Abington men’s lacrosse team in 2008. Two years later, he took on additional responsibilities as director of lacrosse operations for both the men’s and women’s programs and director of academic retention. Prior to Abington, Brandon served as the assistant coach at Swarthmore College for two seasons, focusing on team defense, face-offs, recruiting and scouting.
From 2000 to 2005, he was the assistant coach for both football and men’s lacrosse at St. Lawrence University. He received his bachelor’s degree in studio art from Hobart College and his master’s in education from St. Lawrence University.
At Hobart, Brandon lettered in both football and lacrosse, serving as the football team captain in both his junior and senior years. He was the recipient of the Bill Middleton Memorial Award for his outstanding offensive performance, and the Harter Family Award for Football, presented annually to the member of the football team whose love of the game and desire to win is outstanding.
