A photo of HWS students volunteering at the Bishop Nature Preserve in Fayette, Seneca County, was recently featured in The Land Steward, the newsletter of the Finger Lakes Land Trust. The first-year students worked at the Preserve as part of the Day of Service held during Orientation.
Annually, the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning and Orientation organizers coordinate with community members and organizations to create an Orientation program that provides service where it is needed most, while introducing first-year students to the many opportunities they’ll have to work with the community over the course of their next four years.
The photo was included in a center spread titled “Scenes from Our Nature Preserves.”
The issue of the newsletter with the photo (on page six) is available online.
