Throughout the month of January, the HWS Office of Admissions is offering personal interviews to high school seniors in several states across the country. The interviews are scheduled to take place in Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The interviews provide an opportunity for participants to learn more about the Colleges’ lakefront campus in Geneva, N.Y., and how an HWS education can prepare students to lead lives of consequence. Prospective students also will have the chance to discuss their academic interests, personal strengths and goals for the future.
“Having the opportunity to interview prospective students allows our office to further personalize the admissions process,” says Assistant Director of Admissions Taylor Jones ’13. “The interviews also allow prospective students the chance to elaborate about themselves in ways that a traditional application may not. This may include explaining a unique situation they had to deal with, or even just an especially proud moment they had in the classroom or even on the athletic field.”
As the New Year gets under way, the Office of Admissions is anticipating yet another exceptional group of students for the HWS incoming Classes of 2018.
“So far, early decision numbers are up from last year, so we are excited to have already begun shaping next year’s incoming first-year classes,” Jones says. “Also, it is important to seize these January interview opportunities now for high school seniors especially, as the regular decision deadline is February 1.”
