As spring finally begins to arrive on campus, so too will seasonal produce, dry goods and other locally-grown and produced goods. The Hobart and William Smith Colleges Farmers Market will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at the Scandling Campus Center, on the rear patio.
Products will include honey, eggs, breads, asparagus, potatoes, meats, cheeses, organic vegetable, herb and flower seeds, and some prepared foods. Information on local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and free samples will also be available. Among the participating regional vendors are Fruition Seeds, Fellenz Family Farm, Hidden Rock Farms, Muranda Cheese Company, Ever Green Farm, and Rise and Shine Bread. A selection of free samples will be provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County’s local food program.
The event is sponsored by the Finger Lakes Institute at HWS, in partnership with the Office of Sustainability, Sustainable Foods Club, Real Food Challenge Task Force, Sodexo and the Environmental Studies program.
Parking is available in the Medbery parking lot adjacent to Pulteney Street.
