The International Students Association (ISA) invites the HWS community to join together in celebrating multiculturalism and diversity at the International Kite Flying Festival.
Held on the Quad, the kite festival will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12. The event also celebrates the beginning of spring, welcoming all attendees to fly or make a kite. The event will include barbecue food and ice cream, as well as music.
“The main goal of the event is to fly kites and celebrate the presence of international students, multiculturalism and diversity across the HWS campus,” says ISA President Sharaf Mirzayee ’15. “Everyone is welcome.”
Mirzayee, who is from Kabul, Afghanistan, says he will prepare a traditional Afghani kite during the event. He says all attendees are welcome to make kites. “I hope people get involved and experience kite flying,” he says. “The event is for all members of the HWS community to celebrate.”
Mirzayee says the ISA also invites students to join the student-run organization. For more information about the ISA, visit the group’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HWSISA
