Josh Weinstein ’17 has begun his career as a relationship manager with the Talener Group, a staffing company that assists IT professionals in finding careers in the technology industry. Weinstein will begin his role as a relationship manager at Telener’s Boston office, where he will help foster these connections.
“I will be dealing with companies looking for programmers, app developers and other IT professionals,” says Weinstein. “Part of the job is a ton of training about that field, so I’m excited to learn more about it.”
While at HWS, Weinstein majored in political science and minored in media and society. He worked as the civic leader for HWS Votes on behalf of the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Society, and served as an Orientation Coordinator for Orientation 2016.
“HWS prepared me immensely for my upcoming job.” Weinstein says. “In particular, career services taught me professionalism in the workplace and how to act during interviews and what to look for when interviewing. In addition, going on the Day on the Hill trip with professors DeWayne Lucas and Iva Deutchman showed me how important networking really is in order to secure a job”
“A piece of advice I’d give to students seeking jobs is to be proactive but stay patient. I learned quickly in the job search that you are working on other people’s schedules and that what you want to hear may not come quickly. It is important to stay persistent and not lose the drive to keep searching even when you have found something that you feel great about,” says Weinstein.
