Geneva Concerts will present Hesperus: The Buxtehude Project at 8:15 p.m. Friday, March 30 at the Smith Opera House in downtown Geneva. The pre-concert talk begins at 7:15 p.m.
The program will include cantatas and trio sonatas by German baroque composer Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707) performed by Hesperus, an “innovative, historically informed and multi-cultural” group that specializes “in fusions of historic and living traditions.”
Hesperus has toured internationally for more than 20 years, and is regularly heard on several public radio programs, Voice of America, CNN and the Canadian Broadcasting System.
