Hobart and William Smith have numerous alums who have served as Peace Corps volunteers and some who are currently serving. They are clear examples of what it means to be an engaged citizen. An upcoming panel discussion with some of these individuals will be an opportunity for current students to learn about the unique ways they can apply their liberal arts education to positively impact an impoverished area.
Come join our Peace Corps recruiter and returned Peace Corps volunteers at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 in Merritt 200. Pizza will be served.
Recruiter Shannon Small will speak about the application process and Peace Corps volunteers will share stories from their experiences.
Peace Corps volunteers work on variety of issues including AIDS relief, and in areas such as information technology and business development. The Peace Corps has become more vital today than ever as they continue to help countless individuals across the globe build a better world for themselves, their children and their communities. Visit their Web site at: www.peacecorps.gov for more information.
Please RSVP by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on the 24th.
