Hobart first-year Ben Ayres led the golf team in its season finale, the 36-hole Oswego State Spring Invitational. He carded two of his best rounds of the season to tie for 11th place in the 49 golfer field at the Oswego Country Club.
Against the par 71 layout, Ayres turned in a first round score of 83, his third best round of the season. He followed that with a 76 on Sunday, matching his best 18-hole score of the year. Classmate Dillon Sass was the second Hobart player in the clubhouse, logging rounds of 87 and 83, tying for 29th place.
Hamilton won the team title behind medalist Greg Scott (67-72–139). The Continentals were 27 strokes better than runner up Daemen. The Statesmen, who were in last place after the first 18 holes, caught local rival Keuka to move into eighth place in the final standings.
