The annual Community Barn Sale will be held on Thursday, May 17, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Barn, located off of St. Clair St. The annual sale benefits the Ontario County United Way.
The sale contains a wide variety of various household items ranging from furniture, to appliances, kitchen items and rugs. The items have been donated by members of the HWS staff, faculty and student body as well as Geneva community members.
The Barn Sale will also include an E-Waste collection where old and broken electronic items, including televisions, computers, VCRs, and batteries, can be safely collected and disposed.
“Keeping electronic waste out of landfills is essential to prevent the hazardous chemicals and materials they contain from contaminating the environment,” says Sustainability Coordinator James Landi ’08. “The HWS community does a great job of being responsible about e-waste, recycling it properly to keep it out of the landfill.”
The event is co-sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, Residential Education, and Student Affairs.
To maintain traffic flow, shoppers are asked to park in the lot on St. Clair and walk across the street to the Barn. For further information, please contact the CCESL at (315) 781-3825.
