Five HWS students participated in the 2005 William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition on Saturday, Dec. 3, sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America.
The prestigious competition, requiring two three-hour sittings to solve 12 complex mathematics problems, annually attracts thousands of college students across the country. Students participate on their home campuses.
HWS team members competing this year were Chris Hagar '07, Rebecca Gutwin '06, Andrei Romanov '07, Michael Tien '06, and Jennifer Zaleski '07.
Results from the contest will be announced in March.
