As part the city's Summer Arts Festival, six area theatre organizations have teamed up to present “Geneva's Summer Breeze,” a musical theatre showcase featuring some of the region's most talented and gifted performers on Saturday, July 31. Geneva Theatre Guild, Seneca Community Players, Pennsylvania Yankee Theatre Company (PYTCo), Midlakes High School Theatre Experience, Phelps-Clifton Springs Community Players and Penn Yan Academy Drama Club have collaborated to present a potpourri of musical numbers from recent productions including Barry Manilow's “Copacabana,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Rent,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” “Man of La Mancha,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Side by Side by Sondheim” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
Tickets to this event are $8 general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show.
All proceeds from this unprecedented cooperative undertaking benefit Geneva Arts Development Council – the festival's organizers – and the historic Smith Opera House. The Smith Opera House is located at 82 Seneca Street.
The Smith is supported, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, the City of Geneva, the Town of Geneva and by contributions from individual supporters.
