HWS achieves something remarkable. It manages to defend, promote, strengthen and evolve the essence of an interdisciplinary, liberal arts education. It's traditional in spirit, yet constantly helps to redefine the rules. I love that juxtaposition. Fortunately, these challenging convergences exist in the real world. The Colleges' ability to help students become more active citizens is rooted in a hunger for constant intellectual growth. Nearly 1,825 days after commencement, I still reflect fondly and rely steadily upon what I learned from the Colleges. I'm grateful for the lifelong friendships and companions that I will always have. Giving back is just a small token of my appreciation and commitment to that cause.
