Why I Give

I spent the summer between my sophomore and junior year at the Geneva Community Center, teaching local students. I believe through the combination of arts and education, I was able to affect my students' lives on personal and intellectual levels. This experience solidified my commitment to the arts. I spend as many hours in a studio mastering dance and music as any science or math student spends in a lab working on a formula or experiment. If the Colleges are to continue as an inclusive, liberal arts institution, we must adapt to the needs of students and faculty. We must change our image to mirror the versatility of our student body. That's why I give back to HWS in support of the Performing Arts Center.
