Why I Give

There are debts in life that can be repaid; Yet what I owe Hobart and William Smith reaches far beyond the calculable. At a time when life seems to cast you out to stand on your own, HWS and its professors embrace you in their individual ways, engaging your intellect and showing respect for a mind still forming. A mere 48 months later, you are ready. Quickly, you find as you move through your professional life that you more than stand up to the challenges. Walking the campus these days -- I am a Genevan again! -- I am reminded that HWS is like a river, new water always refreshing it, flowing through familiar banks, heading in the right direction. I give to keep that flow going, knowing that I have received more than I can give back. It is important, beyond measure, that others follow us.
