"I contribute, and have most years since graduation, from an understanding the Colleges taught me in large measure, to the degree I am and have been able to exercise them, an ability to order my thoughts - in simplest terms to think things through - and an ability to communicate those thoughts and thus to make my way in the world so much as I did. If giving helps the Colleges assure their future so that students today and those to follow come to the same understanding, and pay it forward in their lives, then perhaps each contribution helps secure this legacy."
