I love the students here, especially the ones in my classes. They make teaching fun. They are interesting, curious, hard-working people, and I enjoy watching them learn and improve their skills. Sometimes they're so busy, they don't seem to realize how much they've accomplished or grown until I remind them at the end of the semester. They're why I love my job. I give back to Hobart and William Smith for two reasons, both purely selfish: I want great students to continue to come here and I want great colleagues to want to stay here.
