I give to the Colleges because Hobart College taught me how to think and how to learn. Seemingly simple, but not all that easy. But those two skills have opened up opportunities for professional work and personal living that are beyond anything I could have imagined during my four years on campus. And while my job descriptions morph rather slowly, the work I do on a daily basis changes constantly. HWS prepared me to look at problems as opportunities, to create and communicate solutions, and to have tools to satisfy inquisitiveness; and so to look at life's challenges as a natural and comfortable part of being alive. That is a gift I want to help pass on to the next generations through regular giving.
