USA Patriot Act and Librarians Talk Featured

The recent talk at the Colleges by New York City librarian Mark Rosenzweig, titled “Libraries, Open Information and the Challenges of the Patriot Act,” addressed increased governmental surveillance of library patrons. Rosenzweig, like many librarians, is critical of the USA Patriot Act, which stands for “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001.” The talk was featured in an article, “Surveillance in the stacks” in the Nov. 18 Canandaigua Daily Messenger.
