The first march and speak-out for “Take Back Your Life” will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the Finger Lakes Community College Center, Pulteney at William streets — the former Geneva Middle School building.
Organizers are planning a march every spring –while it is still light out — to raise awareness of all kinds of violence, not just violence against women. They want to make it known that violence affects everyone, regardless of gender, race, class, age or ethnicity.
April is traditionally observed as sexual assault awareness month, child abuse awareness month, and crime victims rights awareness month.
Event sponsored by Rape and Abuse Crisis Services of the Finger Lakes.
