Auditions for the Seneca Community Players production of Andrew Lippa's “The Wild Party” will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 24 at the Smith Opera House in Geneva.
The play tells the story of one wild evening in the Manhattan apartment shared by Queenie and Burrs, a vaudeville dancer and a vaudeville clown. In a relationship marked by vicious behavior and recklessness — mirroring the time in which they live — they decide to throw a party to end all parties.
Those planning to audition should be ready to act, sing and dance but should not prepare a song — music from the show will be provided. Participants should also bring a list of potential rehearsal conflict dates. Parts are available for nine women and 11 men.
Pam Rapoza will be the director and choreographer for this musical, which will be presented Aug. 11-13 and 18-20 at the Delavan Theatre on the New York Chiropractic College campus in Seneca Falls. Annie Bachman will be musical director.
