Geneva Theatre Guild will hold auditions for Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta “The Pirates of Penzance,” starting at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, May 22 and 23 at Trinity Church on South Main Street, Geneva.
This production will be the Broadway-revival version with sentimental pirates, bumbling polic officers, an Elvis impersonator and a pantomime sing-along. Show dates are July 14, 15 and 16 at the Smith Opera House.
There are speaking roles for nine women age 17 and older and four men 18 and older, and a large chorus. Those auditioning should bring a prepared piece to sing, and be dressed for dancing.
Directing this production will be Steve Duprey, with vocal direction by Todd Slocum, an orchestra under the direction of Robert Cowles and choreography by Pam Bryan.
