RPO plans ‘New Beginnings’

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will present “New Beginnings” at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25 and Saturday, May 27 at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester. The pre-concert chat begins at 7 p.m. each evening.

Christopher Seaman will conduct the orchestra, with Roger Wilhelm leading the Rochester Oratorio Society and vocalists Laura Whalen, soprano; Anita Krause, mezzo-soprano; Michael Colvin, tenor; and Gary Relyea, bass-baritone.

The program will include Jennifer Higdon's “Blue Cathedral,” Richard Strauss's “Death and Transfiguration,” and concluding with the chorale joining for Mozart's “Requiem.”
