Geneva Theatre Guild seeks plays for 2007 season

The Geneva Theatre Guild is now looking for area residents with stage directing experience to direct a production for the Guild's 2007 season.

Season Planning Committee Chair Eleanor Stearns said proposals are now being solicited for the March Belhurst Castle dinner theatre show, which could be a musical review, mystery or comedy; next summer musical at the Smith Opera House, and the October comedy or drama at the Sons of Italy home.

Next year, the Guild will present an additional production in May, called Theatre After Hours, at the Smith Opera House Cabaret. “We are seeking one-act plays for this production,” Stearns said.

Written proposals should include a synopsis of the show, director's concept, cast requirements, script (if available) and as many of the production staff as possible. For musicals, the proposal should include names of the music director and choreographer.

Those making proposals should send them to the Season Planning Committee, Geneva Theatre Guild, P.O. Box 424, Geneva, NY 14456 by Sept. 1.

For details, call Stearns at (315) 789-8985.
