The State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara will present “Carmen,” to open the Geneva Concerts 2006-07 series, at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at the Smith Opera House in downtown Geneva.
A pre-concert chat will begin at 7:15 p.m.
Rodney Gustafson, the artistic director who founded the company in 1994, will lead the “passionate story of lust, treachery and fate, based on the fabled temptress of Seville, told in ballet and set to the music of Georges Bizet.” Choreography is by William Soleau; set and costume design are by Christina Giannini.
All Geneva Concerts programs are free to Hobart and William Smith students with valid ID, shown at the door. Tickets for individual performances may be purchased at The Smith Opera House in Geneva, The Copy Shop in Seneca Falls or Mobile Music in Canandaigua.
