The Geneva High School Drama Club will present “Wendy's Tale,” a comedy by Alan Haehnel, at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday the 4th and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 in the black box theatre.
This is the story of Wendy, a brilliant child who doesn't test well. From her toddlerhood to her high school years, we see how Wendy gets bored with tests and lets her imagination win out over knowledge.
Inside this fun, slightly absurd window into the mind of a “bad test taker,” answers turn into characters, vocabulary words duke it out, and no high school guidance counselors are spared. From Einstein and Freud to every inspirational poster that ever hung in a classroom, this fast-paced, quick-witted romp will delight anyone who has ever taken a test.
Directed by Kevin Schoonover, the show, with 71 speaking parts, features Charlotte Adams Brooks, Maddy Adams Brooks, Camille Halfman, Marie Halfman, Anthony Luzzi, Jasmine O'Connell, Mary Principio and Hannah Schoonover.
Tickets are $5 each and seating is limited to 60 people per performance. Tickets are available at The College Store, at Area Records and Music in downtown Geneva and at the high school office on Carter Road.
