The Hobart and William Smith Colleges Chorale and Syracuse Vocal Ensemble, both directed by Robert Cowles, will present a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Syracuse Credit Union Center for the Arts, 728 E. Genesee St., syracuse.
The program will be devoted to the rich diversity within the world of Jewish choral music, and include ornate chants for the medieval synagogue to recent compositions for the concert hall. It will include uplifting arrangements from Jewish traditions across the globe — Sephardic, Israeli, Yemenite, Ashkenazi, American and more — and will conclude with a performance of Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms,” accompanied by organ, harp and percussion.
Tickets are $12 general admission, $5 for HWS students, and $10 for students from other colleges and universities with ID.
Event sponsored by the Department of Music.
