Shakespeare in Music

Geneva Concerts will present the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra in a concert, Shakespeare in Music, beginning at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Smith Opera House in downtown Geneva.

The program will be selections inspired by Shakespeare’s plays: William Walton's “Henry V Overture,” Felix Mendelssohn's “Music from 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream,'” Jean Sibelius's “'The Tempest' Overture” and Richard Strauss's “Macbeth,” complete with vocal soloists and a narrator.

A pre-concert talk with music director Daniel Hege and narrator Malcolm Ingram will begin at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students with ID, and free to HWS students with ID, thanks to a continuing subscription from the Colleges.
