Bridges Bereavement Support Services will commemorate The 10th Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at The Presbyterian Church in Geneva, 24 Park Place.
The event will honor all people who have died, so that their lights may always shine. Sponsored worldwide by The Compassionate Friends, this date marks National Children’s Memorial Day.
Those planning to attend are invited to light a candle for any loved one on this special night; friends and relatives are welcome to attend. Please take a framed photograph of your loved one(s), and a special reading or memory, if you desire. Candles and candle holders will be provided and refreshments will follow the ceremony.
If you are unable to attend this evening’s ceremony, you may take part in the Worldwide Candle Lighting simply by lighting a candle at 7 p.m. and mentioning your loved one’s name, wherever you may be.
Bridges is a peer ministry dedicated to providing a supportive community for bereaved people, offering an atmosphere of hope and acceptance through listening and sharing of experiences and promoting healing and growth by respecting each individual’s journey through grief.
