Seneca Community Players will hold auditions for Agatha Christie’s “Murder at the Vicarage,” beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 and Friday the 5th at John Morris Manor Bed and Breakfast, 2138 Route 89, Seneca Falls.
Directed by SCP newcomer Tony Masullo, the show will be staged Friday Feb. 16 and Saturday the 17th, and again Friday Feb. 23 and Saturday the 24th in the Delavan Theatre at New York Chiropractic College.
Parts are available for six men and six women. Those seeking roles may wish to prepare a monologue, but it is not required and scripts will be provided. Participants should also take along a list of potential rehearsal conflict dates. A rehearsal schedule will be announced at the auditions. For details, call (315) 568-9057.
A dramatization of Christie’s first Miss Marple novel, “Murder at the Vicarage” acquaints us with the elderly spinster who, with her innocuous appearance, meandering conversation and ever-present knitting needles, often misleads people into dubbing her a “dithering old maid.” But Miss Marple is a sharp observer of human nature with an uncanny knack of always being right, because, as she says, “Human nature is the same everywhere.”
