“For Your Consideration,” the warmly funny send-up of Hollywood and the Academy Awards, will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, Monday the 12th and Tuesday the 13th, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca St.
In this film, director Christopher Guest hangs up his usual mockumentary format for a traditional narrative, and he is as mercilessly acerbic as ever in his satiric aims, with often uproariously funny results.
“For Your Consideration” leaves virtually no stone unturned and no brand of Hollywood moving-and-shaking unlampooned in its view of Oscar campaigning and the tricky, sometimes ridiculous politics that go along with it.
With a running time of 1:26 minutes, this hilarious send-up of awards-season histrionics is rated PG-13. Tickets are $5 general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens and are available at the door or by visiting The Smith
