Internationally known pianist-composer Roger Steptoe will present a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, March 2 at The Smith Opera House.
The program will include French masterworks for piano by Ravel and Debussy, the 1947 piano sonata of Henri Dutilleux, and three preludes by American composer Benjamin Lees.
It will also include premiere performances of the second piano sonata of James Scott Balentine, an early work of Francis Heilbut and Steptoe's “Hommage a Claude Debussy,” written for his recital on Debussy's restored Bluthner piano in the Musee Labenche in Brive, France.
Tickets are $15 each and $10 for students and senior citizens, and are available at The Smith box office, 82 Seneca St., in Geneva.
