The Geneva Theatre Guild will open its 2007 season with the romantic and touching musical, “I Do! I Do!,” Friday, March 2, Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th, at Belhurst Castle on Route 14, just south of Geneva.
Agnes and Michael begin telling and singing their story on their wedding night; it progresses through birth, the teenage years, the weddings of their two children, a major crisis in the relationship, the dreaded empty nest feeling and finally the move from their house to an apartment.
Playing the role of Agnes is Joanne Saracino of Phelps, a favorite of local audiences; her husband, Michael, is brought to life by Kris Whiteleather of Geneva, last seen as the quasi-Italian barber Pirelli in “Sweeney Todd.”
Directing this production will be Dianne Schaumberg of Rochester, with musical direction by Debbie Hodgeman of Phelps.
The musical will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings, March 2 and 3, with a matinée on Sunday, March 4. Tickets are $35 each and include a buffet dinner.
Advance tickets are now on sale at Area Records, Belhurst, Don's Own Flowers and the UPS Store, all in Geneva; and the Copy Shop in Seneca Falls. They are also available by visiting GTG.
