The Smith Opera House will present the Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company production of “Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus” at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, as part of the ArtSmart Theatre for Young People series.
Based on Mo Willems's award-winning children’s picture book, this hilarious show for children of all ages is full of fun, laughter and excitement featuring original music and lots of audience participation.
The friendly bus driver leaves us with one simple instruction: “Don't let the pigeon drive the bus!” But the Pigeon is very, very clever and whines, bribes, pleads and even sings a song to get his own way.
Willems has won six Emmy Awards as a writer and animator for “Sesame Street” and the creator of Cartoon Network's “Sheep in the Big City.”
Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company aims to present high quality theatre to younger audiences across the United Kingdom and to represent the best of British theatre craft abroad. The company's productions strive to entertain and inform young people, drawing from different cultures and traditions to present entertaining and educational work.
All seats are $4.50 and may be reserved by calling the Smith Opera House. The production lasts one hour; home schoolers and public and parochial school students are invited to attend; the show is recommended for ages 3 and older.
