Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes will host the first Empty Bowls Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Geneva High School.
Empty Bowls began in a Michigan high school classroom and has become a popular event to raise awareness of the effects of hunger and food insecurity. Participants pay $20 per adult $5 per child for a simple meal of soup, bread, beverage and dessert; all proceeds will benefit Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes' Emergency Assistance Programs.
Each participants will also receive a commemorative bowl to serve as a reminder that hunger exists in our community.
For details, call Rhonda Zettlemoyer at (315) 789-2686 ext. 104 by Monday, Oct. 15.
