The William Smith College sailing team finished 13th in the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women’s National Championship. The Herons, who placed 14th a year ago, finished the three day regatta with 424 points. First-year skipper Kelly Crane, sailing with senior crew Kate Wilson and first-year crew Sarah Yuskaitis recorded two top nine finishes in the final four races in the A Division. They posted seven top 10 finishes in 18 races throughout the regatta, including a win in the fifth race. First-year skipper Caroline Patten sailed with sophomore crew Emily Pelo and first-year crew Lauren Lark in the B Division. They had six top 10 finishes in the regatta. Boston College eked out a two-point win over Brown (186-188). Yale, which led at the end of Day 1 and Day 2, finished third. Hobart and William Smith wrapped up the 2007-08 season at the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship in June.
