Big Brothers Big Sisters
Have you heard of Big Brothers Big Sisters? Become a Big!
On Tuesday September 9 at 6 pm, Big Magic, a non-binding informational meeting for interested students, faculty and staff, will be held in Trinity Hall, room 305.
As the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States, with more than service for more than a century under its belt, Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors children, ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country, helping them strive toward their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors. BBBS established an HWS chapter in the 2006/07 year.
Community-based Bigs see their Littles between three and five hours each week as mentors and friends. Activities typically include playing games and sports, conducting science experiments, going to the park, and baking. Some Bigs and Littles participate in an after-school program each Wednesday focusing on environmental education and other projects. Click here for more information on the HWS Chapter.
