Come learn about a career in architecture from Gary Johnson P’11, who has been a principal of Cambridge Seven Associates Inc. for more than two decades. Johnson holds a master’s degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and undergraduate degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He will host a talk at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 in Trinity 305.
Johnson’s expertise in urban design is utilized on projects in the United States and abroad. His clients include developers, hospitality corporations, colleges, private schools, city planners and airport authorities. He has a particular strength in helping his clients communicate their goals to the agencies, residents, donors and others concerned with the evolution of their projects. His work includes Charles Square in Cambridge Mass., the Houston Design Center, TBI River Villa luxury housing in Bangkok, Thailand, and the Logan Airport Hilton at Boston’s Logan Airport.
His current projects include the redevelopment of the historic Charles Street Jail of Boston into a new four-star luxury hotel known as the Liberty. It also includes the new W Hotel and luxury high rise condominiums in the heart of downtown Providence, a Community Center for the City of Cambridge, and the Boston Museum Project.
