Tonight as the votes come in and the states swing red or blue, President Mark D. Gearan will lend his expert analysis on the election as the guest of “Capital Tonight Decision 2008” broadcast from Albany, N.Y. across New York State by Time Warner Cable. Gearan will join “Capital Tonight” host Brian Taffe. The show will air live at 9 p.m. Locally, it can be viewed on RNews, channel 14, in Rochester where Gearan will comment.
“Capital Tonight” is a politically focused TV show that broadcasts comprehensive, in-depth coverage of the political and news-making scene in New York. “Capital Tonight” airs Monday through Friday from the Capital Region, to the North Country, through the Mohawk Valley, Central and Western New York and the Southern Tier. The former director of the Peace Corps, Gearan served in the White House as Assistant to the President and Director of Communications, as well as Deputy Chief of Staff, during President Bill Clinton’s administration. During the 1992 presidential campaign, he was Al Gore’s campaign manager, segueing to the position of Deputy Director of President-elect Clinton’s transition team.
A native of Gardner, Mass., President Gearan earned his B.A. in government cum laude at Harvard University and his law degree at Georgetown University. He is also the recipient of 12 honorary degrees.
