Let’s Play Faculty Jeopardy

Answer: It’s one of the most fun campus events where you’ll find your professors on stage. Question: What is Faculty Jeopardy on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Geneva Room?

Don’t miss this fun-filled event as nine HWS professors match wits in rounds that tax their knowledge and show their scholarship. The event is hosted by former Jeopardy contestants Professor of Media and Society Lester Friedman and Assistant Professor of Russian Area Studies Kristen Welsh. Contestants include:

William Smith Interim Dean Cerri Banks

Professor of Sociology James Spates

Associate Professor of Art Nick Ruth

Instructor of English Mary Hess

Assistant Professor of English Karl Parker

Professor of Biology Elizabeth Newell

Instructor of Italian Sebastiano Lucci

Professor of Music Robert Cowles

Professor of Political Science Iva Deutchman

President Mark D. Gearan will facilitate the final Double Jeopardy round.

Questions will be drawn from a variety of disciplines.  “We want the event to be fun. Hopefully a question or two to stump the professors a little bit but nothing too serious,” says Ethan Guralnick ’11 of the Media and Society Club, the event sponsor. “One of our main goals is to bring students and professors together, something outside the classroom that they can both enjoy.”

Who will take home Faculty Jeopardy glory? Who will wager it all and make it through Double Jeopardy? Find out on Dec. 3 in the Geneva Room.
