Amy Goodman, host of the award-winning news program “Democracy Now!”, and one of more than 280 arrested in the coverage of protests during the Republican National Convention, came to Geneva to share her experience on Friday, Nov. 21. Goodman is on a national speaking tour marking the 12th anniversary of Democracy Now!, as well as the launch of her third book, and spoke at the Smith Opera House in an event sponsored by the Colleges radio station, WEOS.
A number of local media announced her pending arrival in the Finger Lakes, including CNY Radio; The AuburnPub.com (of the Auburn Citizen); a number of bloggers and the Messenger Post Newspapers, which interviewed Goodman prior to her appearance at the Smith. Additionally, the Ithaca Journal ran stories from two separate interviews before she arrived in Geneva: Democracy, now: Amy Goodman’s State of America and Q and A with Amy Goodman.
The audio of Goodman’s speech is posted on the WEOS Jukebox.
