In the spirit of the holidays, Rebecca Frank, administrative assistant for alumni relations, and her life partner, Gene Zulauf, a retired psychologist, are going to be Santa and Mrs. Claus on several rides of the Finger Lakes Railroad Santa Train. Sponsored by the local Rotary Clubs, the Finger Lakes Railroad Santa Train relies on community members to staff the rides and compensates them by donating to a charity of their choice.
“It is our way of giving back to the community,” says Frank. “Gene and I choose to donate to HWS. In a season of ‘believing’ we believe in the Colleges.” In lieu of payment, they will receive a check made out to the HWS Financial Aid Fund.
There are several train rides in the region, but you can catch these two Clauses on Dec. 13, at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. out of Watkins Glen; Dec. 14, at 1 and 3 p.m. out of Seneca Falls; and at a party in Waterloo on Dec. 20 for the staff of the Finger Lakes Railroad.
