Hobart and William Smith Colleges have extended the deadline for prospective students who want to apply for the Trustee Scholars Program. This competitive scholarship recognizes incoming first-year students (potential members of the Classes of 2013) who have demonstrated excellent academic and personal qualifications during their high school careers.
The deadline for submitting admissions application materials is January 9, 2009. Those requirements are found under instructions on this page.
Those who apply for the Trustee Scholars Program must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Combined SAT scores of 1250 or higher (critical reading and math),
- ACT composite score of 28 or higher,
- Rank in the top 10 percent of class,
- Cumulative GPA of 90 percent or equivalent on a 4.0 scale.
In addition, all Trustee Scholar candidates must have had an admissions interview with a member of the admissions staff, an admissions senior intern or an alumni/alumnae representative by January 20, 2009. For those who have already had an admissions interview, another one is not required. However, to arrange an interview on campus in January or one in your local area (see list), call the Office of Admissions (800) 852-2256.
