Seely ’74 Has Poetry Put to Music

Poems from “Pieces Of Intelligence: The Existential Poetry of Donald H. Rumsfeld,” compiled by Hart Seely, have been set to music and released as an album. The CD is the work of San Francisco-based pianist Bryant Kong and is titled “The Poetry of Donald Rumsfeld,” issued on Kong's newly formed label, Stuffed Penguin Music. The CD was featured on NPR's Morning Edition March 12.

Seely's book was comprised of comments made at press briefings and in interviews by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld arranged in the form of Zen verse, haiku, sonnets, lyric poetry, and free verse. Seely is a member of the Hobart Class of 1974 and a columnist for the Syracuse Post Standard.
