The William Smith soccer team finished third in the NCAA fray, while the Hobart football and soccer squads were both credited with ninth place showings.
The Heron soccer team ended its season with a 16-2-5 record, winning its second straight Liberty League title and playing in the national semifinals for the sixth time in program history. William Smith recorded its 24th consecutive winning season, along with its record 19th NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Hobart football team tied the program record for wins in a season, posting a 9-2 mark this fall. The Statesmen captured their third consecutive Liberty League title, and the program’s seventh NCAA Tournament berth. Hobart advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs with a 33-15 win over Lycoming, before falling to eventual national champion Mount Union.
The Statesmen soccer team finished with an 18-1-3 overall mark, setting new standards for wins in a season and longest unbeaten streak (21) along the way. Hobart earned its fourth NCAA Tournament bid, reaching the third round for the first time in program history.
The Colleges are the highest ranked Liberty League member institution. St. Lawrence is the only other conference foe ranked in the top 50 (#34).
