William Smith senior Nickie Calandra finished eighth in the 38-golfer field to lead the Herons at the Sally Wallace Invitational.
Calandra carded an 85 at the Cortland Country Club, a 5,734-yard, par 72 course. Sophomore Lauren Carlson was the second Heron in the clubhouse, tying for 16th place with a 90. St. John Fisher’s Alexandra Battle was the individual winner, posting a seven-over 79.
Cortland State won the team title by 23 strokes over NYU. William Smith was sixth the in the eight-team field.
The Herons will be back on the links on Mon., April 27 when they compete in the Elmira Invitational.
